Sonata designs and develops database systems using Filemaker Pro. Aesthetically appealing and intuitive user interfaces create a friendly user experience that supports the business logic of the client.

Jim Schliestett, Sonata founder, has been designing systems for business, education, and non-profit organizations since 1994. Projects range from simple contact management databases to sophisticated vertical market products and internal business solutions, always with an emphasis on intuitive user experience.

Prior to taking up this kind of software design, Jim was an interactive music and visual artist/ programmer with Cyberlab7 in San Francisco. Before that, he was a high school teacher and counselor in Watsonville, CA. Before that, he was a commercial artist in Santa Cruz. Before that, a rock guitarist. (Not like he isn't still…)
